Ok - I have been with Teknosurf since Feb '99. Love the service, quality of banners, stats, payout, everthing.

However, Teknosurf just terminated my account because of some software called ClickCheater (or something). I know for a fact I haven't used any such program or script. I'm still trying to work this out with John Ferber.

Has anyone else had problems with someone ******** with their site, to get you in trouble. I don't know who I ticked off, but now I'm on some click cheating service list.

Just trying to see if any other webmasters have been messed with recently or in the past. If so, what did you guys/gals do about it? How did you get off these lists? Does anyone know what this ClickCheat program is?

I'm really irritated, is there a way to stop people from doing screwy things to your site?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

I haven't heard of the program "Click Cheater" itself. However I have heard of another webmaster saying that someone was doing something to raise their click through ratio very high.

I can't remember who it was but I think it is somewhere in this message board. The best thing for you to do would be to write John and explain this to him and convince him that the last thing you would want to do is ruin your relationship with such a great sponsor.

Thanks - Good advice, I'll search the board and try to find similar issues. I guess I'll search the newsgroups as well. I've tried the search engines but can't find anything close to a click cheater. I'll need to get more info from John about this program when he calls me back. I don't want to lose Teknosurf, I've been very happy with them.

Hi Kevin Minnelli,

I took a look at your site and didn't see anything out of the ordinary within the context of this thread. Couple of ideas:

Run your server logs and look for unusall stuff. Save these logs please. Make sure every single directory on your site has a blank index.html. Password protect all directories with Admin type programs in them. Change your ftp password as soon as you read this post and make sure it's a long string, makes no sence, and has upper and lower case in it.

HTH and sorry to hear of your plight.

Hi Kevin,

Here's a previous thread on a similar note, some food for thought...
