Just checking to see if anyone has received their backpayments for FocusIN since they were 'bought out (or whatever)' by a new parent company.

FocusIN Really the only banner company I can get in, so I'm curious!

Thanks :)

We're still waiting for what they owe us. I would advise extreme caution if you are going to serve their ads.

So anybody else recieved their FocusIN payments? I'm thinking of applying to them. Should I?

If you're willing to take a risk, sign up and then you can report back on whether they pay or not.

I received this email from FocusIN on 4. December:

Hi MyName WasHere,

You have received this email as a result of your active status within the
last 6 months on the focusIN Specialty Web Network. To be removed from
all future mailings, please visit our opt out page:
http://www.focusin.com/cgi-bin/...

There is some exciting news at focusIN, and we want to share it with you,
our publishers, who have shown so much support for our company over the
last few years.

The focusIN Specialty Web Network is now under the new management of ZAQ
Interactive Solutions, a publicly listed Canadian company, with offices in
Montreal and Paris. Having ZAQ as our new parent company gives us the
financial resources to grow our network and keeps us as one of the elite
ad networks existing today.

Many of the benefits of using focusIN are still around, including:

* Competitive rate structures based on fixed percentages of ad rates we
charge to advertisers - as our sales team secures higher rates we pass
these proportionately over to you, with no maximum limits on what you can
earn
* No ad serving costs
* Top-notch customer service
* 24-hour access to your account reports/stats, which remain the best in
the business
* No contractual obligation (you can use our network at your convenience)
* Prompt payment 40 days after month-end

Effective November 19th, 2001 we have been operating from new offices.
Please take a moment to update your records.

for surviving ad networks in the marketplace, and we look forward to
continuing our profitable business partnership with you.

Welcome to GV Pageup.

I received the same email yesterday and I would advise proceeding with extreme caution. Time will tell if they are able to overcome all the months of not paying publishers.

Yesterday has received the check for August! Perfectly! They are again alive! The check is written out from ZAQ.

Hey all,

I didn't want to start a whole new thread for this, so I'm just posting this in this thread. I was wondering how FocusIn or their partners made those banners where you shoot the ducks? I think those banners are very nice and work very well. They get the most attention I belive. Does anyone know where they get them or how to make one of those?

Help will be appriciated... :D

Just wanted to say originaly I wasnt going to be paid.

$52.04, not A LOT, but I wrote a rather scathing email, stating how they could differentiate in such a rude manner and yada yada yada.

Imagine my surprise when I received a cheque for the FULL AMOUNT 2 months later.

I wasnt rude, just sensible. Maybe trying that will help :angel:

Regarding the duck banners --

It's funny you mention that because a little while back I saw that ad and thought I'd try duplicating it in flash to see how well it would do. I set it up so once you clicked the 3 targets it sent you to whatever URL I specified in flash (currently an allclicks link, but can be changed easy enough.) It got a pretty good click rate when I tested it, but I didn't end up using it. If you wanted a copy I might be able to crank you out one.

Oh, and you can view my version here: http://www.weaselcircus.com/games/testbanner.htm

I got a check to my amazement - from Zaq? It took me a while to figure out what this was- as it was not labeled and had no invoice, paperwork with it. They do pay eventually - but most times delayed. I don't use them too much anymore because like other ad companys they can't count, or make up a creative way to count.

Can you make one with bats to go to www.batcave.net :) would trade you banner views or whatever - would be cool if you did - thanks!
