Thumbs up LinkShare's steps torward affiliates trust

After receiving so many complaints and loosing a good number of active affiliates, LinkShare is taking important steps to gain back their affiliates trust.

The first move has been to publish the merchants payment records (limited to the ones who pay through LS). More minor changes have been made in the last weeks. And finally Steven Messer scored an important "touch down": effective immediately all LS merchants are required to cut checks on a monthly basis by the fifth business day of the month following the transactions.

The full story: http://www.linkshare.com/documents/l...ent_policy.doc

Things start moving on the right direction: if merchants, networks and affiliates work TOGETHER and not AGAINST EACH OTHER, we all win!

Regarding the new payment cycle, if a publisher still has to meet each merchants minimum earnings amount, merchants may just increase their minimum earnings amount in order to avoid having to pay monthly to all but the highest earners. I think they really need a system like CJ where publishers get one combined check if a combined minimum amount is met.

I fully agree with you, John. I know that LS is taking steps in this direction also, at least regarding those merchants who pay through them. They are also studying benefits for merchants who switch to the LS payment system. Let's wait and see...

Also regarding merchants raising the minimum earning amount to send out checks, well: let's see if it happens before we start complaining. In my opinion if a merchant is so brainless to do this, we affiliates have the right solution: just drop it!
