Unhappy Promoting a Mac site

Hey guys,

Any Mac people out there? I've got a Mac-related site, and was wondering if anyone had any tips promoting it?

Yes,

There are us Mac people out here! What do you mean by Mac-related? Your site seems a little vague...maybe if you could show us, or tell us a bit more.

Hey Monkey,

Well, this is the site I was asking about the slashdot-like code for. I ended up using the PHP port of the Slashdot code... the site is called Macrumors.com. http://www.macrumors.com

It's basically a headline sort of site with user commentary. I'm pretty much doing the updates right now... but hoping to encourage user interaction. I know that's the hardest part. Anyway, I've found a Mac-only banner exchange (run by macinstein.com).

What I suggest is to contact the webmasters of other mac-related sites, and try to get some link swapping accomplished. Mac Webmasters are wonderful about this because they want to promote as many mac sites as possible. You're lucky because you have a *great* domain that should really spark some interest. Here are some sites you might want to contact:

Contact ALL the sites listed here: http://geekvillage.com/ubb/wink.gif
http://dir.yahoo.com/Computers_and_I...ems/Macintosh/

Might want to announce your site here:

If you get some really super unique content (and I mean super .. like with pictures of future computers, or rumors from top notch officials), it would be in your best interest to contact MacAddict, MacWorld, or some other magazine via their respective Web site. They publish stuff like that in an instant. Good luck.

Yeah, big fan of the domain name. It actually was a recently become available domain.... don't know who had it before.

As for the super-unique content... we'll see. http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif

I've contacted a few "links" sort of sites to list my site... as well, I'll be trying to contact some webowners as well. Thanks for the advice... I'll take a look at the maccentral board...

How do you find out about recently available names? I hear about some kind of "list" but can't locate it. Thanks.
