Default Chitika starting to kick people out

We are all probably aware of people being kicked out of the AdSense program and people being angry at Google. Now Chitika has starting kicking people out.

We also know that there are people in this world who will cheat a program. Considering how many publishers are in the AdSense program I doubt if there is any person who would say that there hasn't been a single person who has tried to cheat the program. Those kind of people are always around. There are some dishonest people in the world.

Google has allowed a few people back into the AdSense program after they had been kicked out. That would indicate that Google possibly was wrong in those situations and found out they were wrong.

It is very likely that some people have been kicked out of the AdSense program who shouldn't have and weren't allowed back in.

It is also very likely that there are people who tried to get away with things and got caught.

Google has a good reputation and is loaded with money. Very few people would say Google is doing any of this out of being dishonest.

With a new company that doesn't have as good of a reputation or the tons of money that Google has begins doing things people tend to question what is going on a lot more than they would with a company such as Google, Yahoo or Microsoft.

Chitika has started kicking people out of their program for what Chitika says is fradulent activity. People who felt they were owed large sums by Chitika are very angry.

The general thought among most publishers had been that Chitika was just going to not count any clicks they classified as fradulent, and pay for what they felt wasn't fradulent. But now Chitika seems to be talking about fradulent traffic as well as fradulent clicks.

It is safe to assume that just as with AdSense or other programs, there are people in the Chitika program who are dishonest. It is also very likely that Chitika is catching some guilty people. It wouldn't be a surprise if Chitika has made some mistakes in relation to some publishers.

It is going to be interesting to see what the future holds for Chitika and publishers using their eMiniMalls.

As long as they arfe accurate in their assessments, this is a very good sign for the program's longevity. Advertisers are a picky bunch and they won't hesitate to switch away from Chitika if they find that the program is producing an above-average level of unproductive traffic. A good fraud detection program also assists legitimate publishers in gaining better rates and access to better advertisers.

That said, a poorly run fraud detaction program can easily have the opposite effect. If legitimate publishers with legitimate traffic are being flagged and terminated with little notice, that will only reflect negatively upon Chitika and may make it difficult for the company to acquire new super-publishers or to acquire a greater share of traffic from their existing publisher base.

I know nothing about their fraud screening process beyond what you've presented here, Larwee, but hopefully Chitika's technology and personnel are strong enough to position their anti-fraud processes in the first of these types, so that the program and its legit publisher base benefit as a result.
