< Post deleted at Jan's request. Innocent misunderstanding. >

This thread is in compliance with the rules (http://www.geekvillage.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13500) as they stand, but I would advise that the original post be edited to include DotDealers' email address and perhaps some details regarding the pricing range of these domains. The subject line will be edited slightly by myself.

Hi...

Not sure what you mean by traffic extraction??? I own about 1200 domains and if I cannot sell them I would like to trade them. I would rather sell them if I could.

Am I doing something wrong with this post? It is my first one... Please advise...

Thanks,

Doug Dillard

I read the rules pretty thoroughly and I think I fit the criteria for the posting in this section for free one time. It is a legitimate offer of trade and I tried to get in as much as possible in one post like Steve said.

Is there something I can modify to make it right.

Please advise...

Thanks again,

Doug

What is Yahoo listed? I guess the answer is no, since I am not sure what it is.

Let me know...

Thanks,

yahoo listed simply means listed at yahoo.com

You can sell domains through Yahoo? If so... does it cost something to list them?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Hi DotDealers,

some names you have their! .

I think what he meant by 'are any of the names listed at Yahoo' was,are any of the domains still (if they ever were) in yahoo's searchable database (search engine).. Just thought i'd clear that up for you;) .

All the best,

Karl.

If there was a real site behind the domain, and the site is listed at Yahoo directory.
Sites and domains like this normaly worth more.

Not a domain listed at Yahoo for sale.

BTW, Steve's post interpreted means "don't worry your post is fine".

Yes Yahoo Listed, means Listed in the Yahoo Web Directory, something which is worth a few hundred dollars these days. Not that i've got that sort of money lying around. I try to pick up expired Yahoo-listed domains.

Steve,

Thank-you for the Welcome note... I really like your site. It has some very valubale informaton. Since we both live in San Diego, I was hoping that we might do lunch or something one day. I will try to get a hold of you one of these days.

As for the rest of the responses... I truly appreciate your input! I will try and give my two-cents to any questions I know the anwser to whenever I can as well. Does anyone think it is worth listing domains on eBay or on Yahoo's auction?

Any ideas for selling or trading some of my domains would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Doug Dillard

Hi,

Ebay seems to be saturated with domain names at the moment.
The only names that seem to sell well at auction are generic names or names that have been marketed, and even some of these seem to fetch low prices sometimes it would seem.

Maybe grouping say 10 domains together on eBay as one sale would work better, and i think this would tempt more bids from people.. Just one thing about selling domains on eBay,remember to add in the sale description who actualy pays for transfer fee's after the sale..

Karl.

Thanks Karl,

I appreciate the information. As for transferring domains... I have my own registration service where I can transfer the domains for free, so that should be helpful.

I don't know much about eBay, except for some things that I have read... But is there a way to list a bunch of domains under one auction and sell them individually?

Thanks again,

Doug

Hi Dot..

their are a few things you could try on eBay...

Maybe if you list 10 domains in one auction and give the winning bidder of that auction the choice of which domain he wants... You could then contact the previous bidders offering to buy one the remainder of the list for whatever their bid was for...

Also you could list every domain you have on a webpage somewhere, with prices and other info, then use a link on eBay pointing to this webpage as well.

i've seen this sort of thing done on eBay before and it seems to work okay.Ebay's a good place to sell, but you have to try and be a little bit different from everyone else if you can, because its very compettitive...

Best of luck,

Karl.

Hi Doug,

Perhaps give the highest bidder the right to have any ONE of the domains listed, and then reauction the rest again?

Though given the state of the domain name market I think you'll be in for a battle, the reality is only high traffic names and high quality generics really seem to get more than a couple of hundred at the moment.
