hello everyone, i am new to the forum and i am hoping to get some help. i have a problem trying to publish my website from dreamweaver. i have followed all the steps but in the end the site that is published does not look like it does when i preview it from dreamweaver. i downloaded a template from the internet and then changed it up to my liking. if i am posting this in the wrong section i apologize but if there is someone that might help me i would be very appreciative.

What do you mean it does not look like it does in Dreamweaver? Have you uploaded all the linked image and CSS files as well?

make sure the image links are http :// whateveryourdoamin dot com/ images/then name.jpg
not just images/then name.jpg otherwise images will not show up.
Best checking all links, create a file in notepad with all the pages URLs and then past them into the template, this will eliminate any errors.

Sometimes dreamweaver does not show exactly. Cross browser checking is the good idea to site. sometime worng image path distort all the sites. So you do not have any option except of mannual checking.

Well, dreamweaver cs4 and cs5 have a link tool for validation and checking so u can change them automatically. Also i suggest to check for cross browsing compatibility and seo optimization.

As others have said, you need to explain more fully what you mean. It sounds like people want to help.

may be when u have downloaded the template and used it for your website then the file name or path of the files changed...so check it and again publish the website...

Try to recheck all the files. Maybe you forgot other files to upload which are also needed in your site.

Have you previewed the site on a browser cos dreamweaver can act funny at times.
