View Full Version : Windows Standard v/s Enterprise Edition for streaming

I have a customer that is currently using Windows 2003 Standard Edition for his streaming. He has asked that we change his OS to Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition. He says he has been told that this OS is better for streaming. I have never heard such a thing. Does anyone have any light they can shed on this for me? Thanks in advance.

I've never heard such a thing.
Web Edition can't be used for it, but there should be no difference for Standard & Enterprise for that.

Thanks BurstNET. I have asked around on some other forums and was told the same thing. Not sure where my customer got this idea but we have talked to him and he agrees with us not. Thanks again.

There actually are some advantages with Windows 2003 Enterprise but it ideally depends on what kind of streaming you are doing.

But this site will help : http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/server/version.aspx

I'm also a client of yours streaming:) and i'm using standard and it runs great.
