Unhappy CJ eliminating all CPC programs on August 1 (confirmed)

I received an e-mail from the only CJ CPC program I use. They say CJ is eliminating all CPC programs on August 1. In the e-mail they stated that they confirmed the information with CJ, who is getting ready to inform everyone shortly.

The good news (?) is this CPC program owner is immediately devising a way to work with affiliates outside of CJ.

So, there you have it. I'm putting a circle around August 1st on the calendar. Other than that I'm not that concerned.

Let every Search and CPC program die. They're just a pain anyway with their constant changes, and hearing their *** stories of fraud.

Will I stay with or adopt new CPC programs when they start their programs outside of CJ? No. I will not be able to trust their tracking, both technically, and ethically.
That's just experience talking, and most Webmasters know what I'm saying.

CJ was the magical mediator that made these CPC programs work for Webmasters. Even if you had just one clickthrough, you knew you would be paid for it, being lump summed with earnings from other programs. You knew you had a check coming each month to compensate you for it.

"Even if you had just one clickthrough, you knew you would be paid for it, being lump summed with earnings from other programs"

How about if you are in a CPC program and see in your stats that you received x amount of clicks and didn't get the credit for it?

I reactivated a banner that did well for a while and then died off. It is 3 cents per click and I have had a few clicks and nothing has shown up, the same with 2 others. Should I complain to the Merchants or CJ?

I am not talking megabucks here here...just 1 :-)

Jan, an accurate reflection of your earnings is sometimes delayed when related to CPC programs. Since I have never operated a CPC merchant program through CJ, I'm not sure why this is, whether the traffic must be vetted by CJ, the merchant, or both, before being reported, but you should notice these earnings added to your balance within a few days.

No Czar, I look at the best performing links for the last month and they still don't show up. When this .03 link was first on my site, I got the credit immediately. I checked every day and it was always there in the stats..3 clicks = 9 cents....now it is 3 clicks = 0 cents. And two new CPCs I added are not being credited. So they have all gone tata's :-)

Well, that's definitely an excessive delay.

If you want to keep promoting that merchant, contact a CJ rep for information about why these clicks aren't being credited. Otherwise, try to find a suitable replacement for the two months of CPC support remaining.

Thumbs down

No CPC is gonna hurt a lot of sites, bye-bye CJ. I wonder if their lead tracking is as spotty as their click tracking?

ClickXchange will have an avalanche of new signups real soon.

Well, that means the CJ Casino programs, which have been doing so well for me CPC wise, are out the window.

I don't know what to do now..I'm getting decent leads on some of the .30 FreeStuff leads, but I was doing well ($100 a month or so) from the casino...

I'm out of ideas now...

Networks like ClickXchange.com and FineClicks.com are definately going to benefit from CJ dropping the CPC campaigns.

and merchant do pay less and less per lead.

Nonsense 2000 will soon pay $0.04 per lead.
Isn't it a rate for a CPC program ?

CJ's tracking is not really bad at all... What merchants are you using. Their are merchants that design their pages to convert poorly. Right now I have a 20% conversion rate. It should be higher after I stop using banners.

Textlinks seem to perform the best.

Some of you are wondering about CJs tracking, or are reporting non credits.

Make sure you keep the little 1x1 pixel images with each and every text link or banner.

I have read messages stating that they aren't that important, and that CJ credits you anyway without them. I wouldn't feel so confident of that. Especially CPC.

I think a lot of affiliate program owners will be going towards PPC engines as well. Or would at least be interested in going towards PPC engines. As it brings more targetted traffic for their money.
