Feds Cut Rates Again - geek/talk: Signature-free discourse for serious web publishers

I mentioned previously that cutting rates within a week after tax day (which fortunately this year didn't see that big a drop) would probably be the best thing to do. Seems the FOMC was thinking in that same line of thought, cutting rates to the lowest they've been in more than 6 years. NASDAQ up 156 points, or 8.1% (above 2000 for the first time in about 6 weeks). Dow up 399, or 3.9%. Another cut is expected next month. This could very well be the beginning of the upward swing we've been waiting for.

Hopefully this will spur some ad spending in the near future. In the short-term, I gained 10% on my portfolio today partially because of the rate cut http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif On the other hand, all these rate cuts are killing my money market yields.

Already, there have been signs of the economy recovering slightly, hopefully this rate cut will help that. I don't think the Fed will cut rates much lower, mostly because there isn't much more room to cut them http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif
