I just got this e-mail from MailBits. I imagine this would effect a lot of webmasters.

Dear Affiliate:

In response to our advertisers' demands, we need to add a new requirement to our affiliate program and enforce an old one more strongly.

NEW REQUIREMENT
Starting March 1, 2001, only Web sites hosted and run in the US, UK or Canada may participate in our affiliate program. Affiliates that don't fit this requirement will be paid for all valid traffic they
sent us up to February 28, 2001, but not for any traffic sent past that date.

OLD REQUIREMENT
For a long time now, our policy has been not to accept traffic from sites that don't contain at least 80% English content. Despite that, many affiliates have been sending us traffic from Web pages in other
languages. We can no longer allow that to continue.

We believe that our advertisers are making a mistake by excluding international users, but, like all businesses, we must satisfy our clients' needs. We regret that we can't continue to service our international affiliates and wish you the best in
your future endeavors.

I guess SuperTAF and other similair programs will get a big raise in their normal sign-ups numbers now! http://geekvillage.com/ubb/wink.gif

Some good news: FocaLex has just created a tell-a-friend service, which pays $.55/cents per Subscriber! But the visitor needs to reply to their usual confirmation e-mail to be added in their mailing list, so that may causes a decrease in the number of sign-ups. But their payrate is pretty decent so it may be beneficial to websites which gets a very high sign-up ratio.

SuperTAF, Focalex...and NetEzines are other options worth exploring.

This seems to be one area that is seeing great growth at present, so international residents will simply have to move on.

The one thing that bothers me is that they didn't mention whether or not the payment theshold would come into effect with this final dispursion of funds to terminated member accounts.
