new website evaluation

hi i'm submitting my website for evaluation to all you guys. Let me know what i should add contentwise, and tell me what you think so far. It has only been up for a few days and is already getting close to 2000 visitors per day

I think on the whole it's a nice look. certainly the traffic is somewhat validating.

For pointers, I'd say that the text is a little hard to read in places. Mostly up top in the smallest font. If you make it Arial and bold it, it shows up much better...

the telephone graphic is a bit odd, not a link, nothing to do with mp3s etc.

put up some musical graphics!

Quick loading site, which is good.

The font's aren't consistant. Looks like the bottom half is using an Arial? That's much better for the small print than the font used for small print on the top half. I guess mp3's are all downloaded by folks with good vision? Why the two different types of menus?

I spent about five minutes closing all the windows that kept opening up on me cruising your site, the old clickheretofind bug, yeech!

I kept closing windows, and more kept opening up, over and over again! I feel this is more frustrating than e-mail spam. At least with the e-mail spam it takes me about 5 seconds to delete it and move on!

thanks for the advice questy. I agree with most of the things you said. I have a new site layout as of this second so tell me what you think of it! As for the clickheretofind window, i know it is annoying, but i have it turned off when people do searches, and when they click on some links within my site.
also questy the mp3 surfers are used to far worse as far as popups go, i will post some
urls another time.

anyhow let me know what you think of the new layout...

I don't know if it's you inention to spawn as many windows as possible, but in Netscape (for us Mac users) when you resize the window, it spawns two new ones, each of which lead to yet another. So before I leave your site I am forced to look at the dating page, and the click here to find page, 6 times, not including looking at your site. Questy said it best:

As far as layout. Looks fine! Just might want change the main table so it's not so wide. I have to scroll with my 17" monitor to see the whole thing.

You have good site potential, and supposedly nice traffic too. Your traffic will get even better if people are pleased with the site when they leave.

As far as the exit window, everyone needs to get over it already. I'm not going to get rid of my main source of income for the site.

Yeah, i think juice is some what right on this point. Die-hard newbie mp3 fans will go through pretty much hell to find what they want, where as elite ones dont even use the www anymore for mp3s http://www.very-cool-stuff.com/ubb/smile.gif, heh anyways

Why don't you get rid of clickheretoannoy and just join the goto.com affiliate site. 3 Cents a search, you put a little search box on your page with the words "free mp3's" Simple. In fact you can put the big goto search box on your site , it already has mp3 as a hotspot

i've said it before, and i'll say it again.
I'm not getting rid of it. the goto searchbox only pays quarterly, and it is ugly. I get
checks from allclicks every two weeks. If people will stop visiting a site because it has one or two popups, then i don't want those uptight people at my site anyways.

Anyway how do u get so many visitors in just few days? my mp3 site is almost a year old but only have around 800 visitors/day

By the way, is the clickheretofind.com your sponsor? you can use pop-up for that sponsor? how much u earn per pop-up?

I was wondering about that too, after he posted that he received 2000 hits a day (I won't give away any of his secrets but..) one thing I can tell you is that I believe that he forwarded all his old traffic from his other web page to his new one.

Basically, when i build a new site i use all my other sites to promote it. Also, i build doorway pages (hundreds of them), on anything that has to do with my topic. Then once the site is getting about 1000 hits a day. I exchange links with other sites getting the same or more. I don't just mean one or two links exchanges either, i mean 30 or 40.

notibrian- you have to set up a special deal with allclicks to use their exit window.
it pays 1.5 cents per unique exit
