I had been using Engage Media (formerly Flycast until a merger) as my primary ad provider. I complained to them about their ads automatically opening new pages was answered with our site's dismissal from their program. Coincidentally, (maybe) the next day Engage Media's stock fell to $1 per share. For us Engage had been good for $200 - $400 per month. That is for our 150K to 300K ad impressions per mo. (Engage also was a very quick pay)
Looking to replace Engage, I read this forum and studied ClickQuick.com's recommendations, so I am trying out OnResponse.com. In the first few days the results are less than encouraging. Certainly not the amount I was used to from Engage. My SelectSmart.com site gets decent traffic as alluded to above. The audience is segmented into interest groups. Overall my audience is more women than men and youngish. I'd like to replace Engage. I am not limiting my thinking to just banner ads (I think people are becoming oblivious to them). So any and all suggestions for revenue sources are greatly appreciated. Regards, Curt Anderson anderson@selectsmart.com http://www.SelectSmart.com |

PS: To be fair to Engage, they said that they dismissed our site because we fell below 250K impressions not becuase of our complaint.

Curt - we had the same complaint about how they were running certain ads and they removed them without objection so it's good to hear that you weren't removed for that reason (although I'm sorry to hear that you lost Engage). For all of Engage's faults there isn't a great replacement out there. We complain and complain about them but they are one of the highest paying programs. You may want to look into putting up a CPA, CPC or a pay per lead banner. It will be tough to match Engage, but you may get lucky with a decent banner or two that you select. We have been real satisfied with CJ and they have a nice selection of each type of program.
