Is traffic from adult sites less valuable to advertisers?

Every banner company I look at, their terms prohibit adult sites. Even allclicks.com, which otherwise says "As long as it's a real live surfer clicking on the link we'll pay you for it", does not allow adult sites.

But I even see some pay-per-sale programs that don't allow adult sites.

Id say they are just as valuable when it comes to general surfing. But, most adult sites have more ads than content, which would lower the value of the "mainstream" sponsor. The traffic would be fine... its just that the general consensus of adult webmasters run sites that don't benfit the advertiser, due to enormous amounts of ads, more prone to fraud, etc etc. so they prohibit all adult sites.
