Exclamation Australian Dollar

Have any of you people ever thought about moving to australia. The reason i am asking is because of the state of our dollar, its like .54 US, so in otherwords your checks would be worth twice as much here... Just a thought

hehe.. hi to a fellow Aussie... yep the Aussie dollar seems to be at a good position for US cheques, but it evens out when most of your expenses are in US dollars as well http://geekvillage.com/ubb/frown.gif

Heehee.
Im ecstatic now that AU$ is sooooo incredibly low. Heehee.

However, I'm hoping it wont stay so low for long as i'm heading over to America next year, so blahg.

I agree with steve also, you dont wanna know what Aussie's think of american's.
However, strange I seem to be always getting involved with americans http://geekvillage.com/ubb/wink.gif

The thing is about dollars being worth different amounts, it doesn't really matter because you're being paid in your local currency. Sure, you could be making $30,000 US and that would be worth $45,000 CDN, but if you move to Canada you're not going to be making $30,000 US. You'd likely make $30,000 CDN.

That's not entirely necessary, however.

The lower the dollar is here, the higher amount I will get for a check.

So, if the Australian dollar were to jump from 34 cents today, to 70 cents tomorrow. And I also recieved one of my US cheques tomorrow... then I would indeed be getting a lot more... and it would be worth a lot more than when the AU$ was at 54 cents... even tho; it would still be worth exactly the same amount in american terms. Yeah...?

It's a funny phenomenon to see, international webmasters hoping for their currency to weaken against the American dollar.

That's also not necessarily true, fairhousing... http://geekvillage.com/ubb/wink.gif

The americans may be winning... but not dominating.
See... america, with it's population of 200 and something million and all its money is coming first...is not that much further ahead than australia with its population of 18 million... If we had as many people... you american's wouldn't live to see another day http://geekvillage.com/ubb/wink.gif Heh

if ur "population = dominance" theory was valid then china, india, pakistan, etc would be dominating the olympics.

let's face it, the usa is in her prime right now in most aspects like economics, military, sports, and so on. however, just like all great nations in history (england, france, spain, ...) the usa's time as #1 is numbered.

"however, just like all great nations in history (england, france, spain, ...) the usa's time as #1 is numbered."
