Mouseovers Of Text ----> NOT Graphics - geek/talk: Signature-free discourse for serious web publishers

Dear People ,

I have been to various sites all over the internet looking for ideas to further enhance my website . I have one query though. I know how to do mouseovers for graphics and all that but of late I have noticed that even text can have mouseover effects by changing colour ! http://www.very-cool-stuff.com/ubb/wink.gif

I presume this is done by some sort of DHTML or javascript , but has anybody got it or at least know where to get it ? Is it supported by both netscape and ie ??

Yes: all recent versions that the CSS standard

For old versions, the colors will picked out the normal way from the body tag

Check www.hits4me.com and do view source to see example

Code lives in the HEAD section

Are you talking about hover or mouseovers??

If you are looking for mouseovers this is the code.

onmouseover="window.status='YOUR TEXT HERE'; return true" onmouseout="window.status='Document: Done';return true;"

Wilcomputer,

Hover does not work for Netscape only IE.

Mouseover for Text is not like mouseover for images.

Most of my links on my site have mouseover. If you hover over some of my freebie and look down on the status bar you will see a description of that like. This code works both for netscape and IE and. The code will not change the text color like hover but I use both mouseover and the hover code. So don't get mix up between the code if you are using IE.

Remember to look at the status bar when you hover over a link.
