Membership login - geek/talk: Signature-free discourse for serious web publishers

I am building a website that requires a paid membership login. Any one with any suggestions how to set it up? Also needing assistance with restricting access to certain pages.

Are you planning on using a cms application or just building the website from scratch. Most any cms app would have this, password protected section capability. Please let me know, if you are going to build it from scratch there are some other scripts that I can suggest, otherwise, just install Joomla.

I used an Allwebco template. But there is no login on any of their templates. I really haven't found a template reasonably priced with one. Yes, I am a rookie.

Any information and suggestions would be extremely appreciated. Remember I need to also restrict access to certain pages. I am using Godaddy as a host (if that info is at all helpful).

I am also wondering what is the best way to show a 3 min video. I have it in a wmv format, but it takes so long to load that it ends up timing out and stalling the computer.
