Default Does YPN only accept US based publishers??

Hi everyone,

I have been trying to join YPN ever since they launched.

Any how, I must have applied like 10 times, but have never ever received a yay or nay and of course no reason as to why I have never been accepted.

Is it because they only accept US based publishers or what??

any one know?? or does anyone have their phone number that I can contact them on?

I applied to YPN before too ... in fact, I've received two invitations so far to sign up. But both times when I went to fill out the form, it was US-only. Which seems pretty stupid to me that they'd send out invitations to people they know can't sign up *rolls eyes* Anyways, yes AFAIK it is still US-only.

But I know of a webmaster friend, who is from Canada and he has a YPN account...

Besimple

Anyone else from the UK who has an account, or anywhere from outside the US??

The rumour goes that they might allow non-us publishers by next century. I, however, am not that optimistic.

If you have an american SSN or EIN, which are tax identification numbers, you can apply for YPN regardless of where you live.

So you can be a citizen of US and a resident of UK, and have a YPN account.

Oh, so they care about citizanship not location? So you could live on Mars Jan-June and Pluto Jul-Dec and they couldn't care less? (The media and NASA likely couldn't care more however.)

They don't care about citizenship as much as taxes. They want you to have a US Tax Identification Number. They are not dealing with any individuals who pay foreign taxes.

You can be a US resident, or even a US Alien as long as you have a SSN or EIN.

That would be very hard unless you live in Canada or visit the US regularly. Otherwise the costs would far outweigh the benefits (like a ticket to the USA and hotel costs).

I've known some people that have tried and tried but they seem to have closed up on getting new publishers until they officially launch. I was lucky i signed up in the early stages, they have also become more strict with their TOS I've heard so they must be close to launching.
