Dear AdWords Advertiser,

Within the next few weeks there will be some significant VAT changes
affecting your Google AdWords advertising. On January the 22nd 2004,
Google will officially launch its billing capabilities at our European
headquarters in Dublin (Google Ireland Ltd).

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

All online AdWords advertisers with a European Union (EU) billing address
will move from being an advertiser with Google Inc. to being an advertiser
with Google Ireland Ltd, and you will be billed in the future by this entity.
Starting January the 22nd 2004, Google Ireland Ltd. will charge you at the
Irish VAT rate in accordance with EU VAT regulations.

These regulations state that because we are billing you from our Irish entity
we can no longer charge you at your local country rate but must charge you
at the rate of the country of billing origin. For example, if you are a UK
advertiser, Google will now charge you at the 19% Irish VAT rate instead of
the 17.5% UK rate. Until January the 22nd 2004, you will continue to be
charged at your EU region VAT rate.

Please note that if you have a valid VAT number and have already entered it
into the AdWords system you will continue to self-assess in the usual manner,
and VAT charges will not be added to your costs. However, if you have not
provided Google with a valid EU VAT number, you will see the new 19% VAT
charge added to your AdWords costs starting January the 22nd 2004.

As a flip side to this , I wonder if this means that UK based adsense affiliates may one day be paid in Euros or Pounds... Lets just hope
