I have this idea re: affiliates and other banners. It is more related to marketing than anything else but I think this is the best forum. Here it is:
Suppose you had a site about one country, say... Japan. Lets say you advertised mainly with Burst and you liked the automation and stable revenue but want more (or even some) Japan/Asian related ads, so you devote some below the scroll space to affiliate ads from Commission Junction who has some Japan/Asian ads. Not a bad setup. Now the idea and question for ad marketing types (or anyone). I am seriously considering carrying only affiliate (CJ) ads (and AdSense). The reason, synergy, every ad on every page could be Japan/Asian related. Even if one ad paid poorly, or were loosely related, the overall effect of viewing only ads related to the site content might pick things up. I also just like the idea of seeing content related ads where I now see cell phones and sweepstakes. It would look more credible. Am I headed for a cliff? |

Sounds good to me and I can point you to our very own Geek Supreme member Edwin at:
http://www.tokyoconnections.com/ Does this space look familiar Please note, although Edwin is currently doing what you propose he also sells adverts himself. Edwin's profile: http://www.geekvillage.com/forums/me...nfo&userid=102 HTH |
