Default Google nominated for Big Brother award.

In February, Google was nominated by the Google Watch web site for Privacy International's 2003 US Big Brother Awards.

I'm certainly respectfull of folks "privacy" but the realities of returning relavent searches and the thousands of $ that any properly optimized site can save in advertising costs is a natural "trade off" for a cookie and seems reasonable to me.

The best relavent listings in the entire world in exchange for a cookie

Thousands of free visitors from G with a properly optimized site for a cookie

On the other hand, I'm not and never will be a big fan of the enhanced Toolbar which displays PR and watches/reports every page you visit. Not for me and I always ask: the G tweak of the ODP lisitngs already displays the PR "bar" but not the number. This means they have already fetched the data. Why don't they just display the number as in PR6? A thought provoking question
