Post FocusIn News......

Anyone see this? Just received it today.... Haven't been using them in a while (since they started forcing popups/unders onto their regular 468x60 banner code), but I must still be on their list.....

=================

Dear focusIN Member,

Mamma.com Inc., a subsidiary of Intasys Corporation (NASDAQ: INTA), is
pleased to announce that it has purchased from ZAQ Inc. (CDNX: ZAQ) its
focusIN Ad Network and proprietary ad delivery system. focusIN is a
recognized and significant player amongst ad networks in the online
advertising industry. Its acquisition will allow Mamma.com to become a major
player in the online media market in North America.

In addition to enhancing Mamma.comís revenue base, the activities of focusIN
are complementary to the companyís core business. As a result, we believe
current and prospective advertising clients of both Mamma.com and focusIN
will profit from this new, comprehensive and unparalleled interactive
marketing offer. This transaction is also good news for you, our publishers,
who have partnered over the years with focusIN since it means that you will
have better access to a broader spectrum of higher paying ad campaigns.

Mamma.com has already taken over the management of focusIN. The integration
of all its employees and activities is now being implemented, and this
process should not in any way disrupt your activities with focusIN, as we
will continue to operate business as usual. Please be advised of focusINís

As for outstanding payments, ZAQ is responsible for all October 10th, 2002
and November 10th, 2002 payments currently owed to members. ZAQ is right now
in the process of mailing out all payments for these two mailing dates, and
you should receive them within the next few weeks, depending on your local
postal service.

Please note that all December 10th, 2002 member payments owed (covering the
business conducted up to October 31st 2002) will be mailed out on time by
ZAQ. After that focusIN payments to members will once again be paid monthly
as per a regular payment schedule.

If you wish to inquire about the transaction or need information regarding
the status of your account with focusIN, please do not hesitate to contact
us by email/phone/mail at the Montreal office address and contact details
listed above.

We thank you for your continued partnership with focusIN and look forward to
building an even stronger business relationship with you in the future.

Negotiations for this sale concluded Wednesday November 13, according to a press release on ZAQ's website. I'm a litte suprised that publishers were not informed earlier.

There was an announcement made in mid-November, but that merely announced the existence of a formal offer for sale. The latest release confirms the completion of the acquisition, and lays out the procedures of the transition.

For information, discussion and speculation concerning the first announcement, please see the following thread:

ok I just found my old account I tried there banner, the first banner produce an installer for gator it was a tiscalli banner guess I won't be using them, unless I just use the simple image calls instead of script or iframe.

edit: just loaded the banner again now got an installer for mp3 search from c2 media ltd ;( what a scummy thing focusin is.

here is the code in there ad calls for the installers
<script language='javascript'>

document.write('<IFRAME SRC="http://fad-309.tor3.targetnet.com/ad/id=[user id]
&opt=htj&pt=4463579263905497088&pfin=
QQCM32MVK5V5&cv=210&uid=1441140040&url=http://ads.adorigin.com/?
DC=FOCUSIN+Popups&DH=Y&TARGET=_new" HEIGHT="1" WIDTH="1" SCROLLING="NO" MARGINWIDTH="0" MARGINHEIGHT="0" FRAMEBORDER="0" VSPACE="0" HSPACE="0"></iframe>');

</script>

note: edited the src= bit above to stop horizontal scorlling by adding carrige returns.
