Default AdsCPM -- eeekh!

I saw AdsCPM mentioned on this forum a few times, so I finally decided to visit their site to see what they have to offer. Good news -- they allow you to see what kind of popups/unders they have in rotation before you sign up. Bad news -- after clicking on their "single window pop-under" link I got bombarded with around 8 or so windows, some of which captionless and borderless, so you can't close them, some mimicking Windows system toolbar, some of them using dirty tricks to add themselves to your favourites or to make themselves your starting page. Reminded me of that time when I mistyped one of the popular domains and ended up at some porn site with endless popups that I couldn't get rid of, so I ended up restarting the computer altogether.

Thanks for the post and the info. What I'm about to say has been on my mind for quite some time and should be taken as general remarks that apply to all programs. I'm not trying to be harsh or disrespectfull.

Unfortunetly, a significant number of Webmasters have a "drive-buy" mentality and fail to perform the necessary "due dillegence". You did and that's great. Once you have all the facts then it's up to the Publisher weather they wish to sign up.

Some procedures:

1. Carefully read the complete TOS. If you don't understand them, then don't sign up. Seek advice for a crystal clear understanding of the terms.

2. Carefully examine the entire site. Is it professional? Do all the links work? How long in business? Contact data? Privacy and COPPA staements?

3. Go to google and the way back machine to confirm what is said. Then to alexa for even more data. Search our archives and other Quality Boards for info and results. Visit a few sites which actually review programs and see what they say. Don't forget whois and look for the data and see if the phone numbers work.

The goal is to make an informed choice based on "your" own research. While these very basic procedures won't guarantee payment and fair treatment, they will significantly reduce surprises, vents, screams, profanity, and more.

These techniques are also valuable lessons for the brick-and-mortar world.

I just hit their single window popunder, and I got just that....a single window popunder. No link bombardment or anything...I think I'll try 'em out.

About single-popunder.

I've dropped their programm 'cause
my visitors hate such kind of pops (full 800x600 window pops, take up the entire screen and have nothing to click to close them).
-of course it closed by pressing Alt-F4, but many people don't know about it, and they RESTART their computers.

I've received tons of vulgar-language emails from my visitors, with requests to remove pops.

Now, my visitors happy again.

If your visitors not so captious as mine, you can work with adsCPM. They pay money, anyway...
