Setting up a 10mbit line

I just got an offer that essentially says I can have a 10mbit line for:

- $12000 U.S setup fee
- $300 U.S per YEAR maintenance fee

I've never heard any kind of deal like this. The $300 per year seems negligible to me. Is this some kind of **** ? What do you guys reckon?

huh is that colocated ? check out http://maxim.net where you can get a 20Mbit line for US$6,100/month and rack space for the server is US$250/month...

i searched around alot of dedicated hosts and Maxim was one on the list but i don't know how to admin a server without a control panel so Maxim was no go - but if i did know how to Maxim would be the place i go to.

I recently signed up with Rackspace.com instead cause they have webmin and a web site wizard http://geekvillage.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

MONTHLY TOTAL **NOW $435.00 **

ALL DEDICATEDD SERVER PACKAGES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

Apache/Virtual Web site Configuration - $200 per Domain

If you wish kernel customization, application installation or additional
configuration it will be billed at our normal labor rates of $35 per 15

If you will require on-going assistance with the administration of your

handle the various administrative tasks your server requires.

I'm already with them. Their 10mbit is $2350 per month. My deal is a one off $12000 with only $300 per year maintenance fee.
