[Fixed] Geek Talk down again - geek/talk: Signature-free discourse for serious web publishers

At around 1pm GMT today I could not accsess these boards for some time, although others sites were fine, a trace could not resolve the IP either. Still more problems with the server Steve?

Confirmed and true.

It appears that all the sites, including this forum were unavailable (did not resolve) for about 6 hours today.

It does not appear to be a hardware issue or upstream provider. Somehow DNS got nuked on my server.

Things seem OK at present <holding breath>

My appolagies for the down time. You can even see the outage via the View Latest Topics date and time for each post.

I'm clocing this ticket.

We aren't 100% sure but the downtime may have been caused by either a UPS test in the DI NOC or maintenance on the Global Crossing line which we are currently using.

I was sleeping for most of the down time

Resolution of the emergency support ticket took 59 minutes.
