Hi guys,
For those who have used or are using or would like to use a Cobalt RAQ server, what would make u choose a RAQ system over a dedicated server, besides the fact that it is easy to use ? |

Sorry I'm not really a raq person but it seems like the raqs are going to hell from everything I know.
That seems to be Sun's goal right after purchasing Cobalt, these days it's just as easy to manage any other dedicated server (a dedicated cobalt is also a dedicated server) with a control panel as is a cobalt raq. The problem with the raqs are that after like one year there are no price drops on the cobalt servers. A AMD 933 mhz machine costs over $4,700. Sure it has scsii drives and all but it still isn't enough to warrant that kind of money. You can build a similar system with just as good specs for a lot less. |
