Welcome to geek/talk, netboy! Although clay checks in regularly here, it might be a good idea to contact i-clicks directly if you are wondering about your specific account balance.

If this is the case, then Elizabeth needs to contact me, and not you. I know your site from the 20 applications i have recieved for it, under about 5 different names, email addresses, and websites. This is the last reply I will be sending to you regarding this matter. If Elizabeth needs to discuss it further, she is welcome to email me clay@i-clicks.net.

Btw, I believe it is against the rules of geektalk to post for other people.

Clay Combs,

Clay,

I noticed that you have a term saying that the payee name for a publisher must match the name the domain is registered to. That's an interesting idea.

Is that strictly an anti-fraud measure?

Basically. Have alot of trouble with people from countries we currently aren't accepting, or which are banned who want to signup under different addresses or names. Some of them run the accounts through someone in the US or they change the addresses to the foriegn address right before check time. To be honest, I don't normally enforce that one, but when an account is showing other signs of fraud, it is something i can fall back on if needed. Sure would be nice if such things weren't needed.

edit: my spelling is worse than usual today.

Hmmm if affiliate programs started basing acceptance into programs on domain name records - I'd be in trouble - my sites are registered to my Cat - Akasha.

Kind of amusing to see my cats get credit card applications from the various banking institutions who have bought mailing lists based on the domain name records :-)

Haven't a clue The domains were registered originally in my name and we changed it due to my visitors calling me on the phone and contacting me via postal mail etc. Now at least if they call and ask to speak to Akasha I know where they got my information from.

Talking

Do you hand the phone to Akasha when they call?

What a cheek though! Getting your personal info and using/abusing it!

Cool

Nah, just ask if I can take a message for her.

I had some guy call me at 11 pm because he didn't want to wait for the email answer, he wanted an answer immediately. Turned out the question wasn't even something I could help him with.

One of my sites offers custom midi arrangements - I don't personally do these arrangements - I recommend others for it and all the contact info is clearly on the page if people are interested. This is what the guy called me about - probably never occured to him that I lived in a different time zone than he did.
