Hi dumb question
I have a transparent logo (flat) as a GIF. I need to make it spin with a 3D effect (must be still transparent) - kinda like spinning a coining on the table - if you know what I mean Is there a program I can buy that will create these animations for me and not mess up the images too much (I do not want to pixel edit each frame...but the client is very quality conscious) Suggestions please ------------------

You can do it pretty easy with macromedia flash.. then just export it.

If you ae any good with Adobe Photoshop (or anything like it), you can just make the image smaller in one direction, so that is appears to be turning/spinning. Photoshop: Select > All. Then edit > transform > scale.
Play around a little. it might work. ------------------ When the pin is pulled, Mr. Grenade is not our friend. |

Teun,
Do you have an example of that? Or does anyone else? I cant visualize what you are talking about. Thanks ------------------ Service Swap Webmasters helping webmasters. Come trade design, links, exposure, content and more. |

I haven't used 3D Studio MAX in a long time, but I think it would be ideal for what you're trying to do. Maybe a bit overkill...
If you're happy with the effect that Teun van Eijsden describes (not really a 3D effect), you could easily create it with Animation Shop that comes with PSP. Just load the logo and use Image Transistion --> Compress and it will "rotate" the image automatically. [This message has been edited by AK (edited 02-25-2000).] |

I found the answer:
1. Crystal Graphics 3D (I'm trying to evaluation version). Import a 2D image, set the background and motion, generate a GIF movie. Couldn't quite get the transparency right though 2. So load the animated GIF into a GIF editor and reset the transparencies BTW that Crystal Graphics program is pretty impressive at producing spinning, bouncing, 3D logos etc. There's a 10 free trial download at their site ------------------
