Anyone been priveliged enough to play with one yet? I was using one at college today, they rock! I liked it so much, I bought one http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif
Yes, I've been converted to a Mac User http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif Soon as I can find a loving friend/relative with good credit to co-sign on a loan with me, it'll be mine (I have perfect credit, its just very short). Any tips for a new Mac user? ------------------ Spencer Uresk spencer@uresk.net Check out my newest site! http://www.myprizesite.com |

Doc - My thoughts exactly - until a few months ago http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif
One of my best friends has a few Macs and I really started to appreciate the raw power and stability of a Mac. Plus, you have to admit, the Power Cube looks pretty darn cool! What clinched it was reading about OS X. Darwin and Aqua look like they are going to rock. Here's a link to some more about OS X, after reading it, you may change your mind a bit (even if it means you just recommend you use them as bookends rather than trash http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif ).. http://www.apple.com/macosx/ take care http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif ------------------ Spencer Uresk spencer@uresk.net Check out my newest site! http://www.myprizesite.com |

I am a mac user also....I got a 350mhz blue and white G3 tower...Regarding the cube though...I know it is nearly silent due to the fact it doesn't use a CPU fan...My question is, what does it use to cool down the system? Does it have a Radiator? =p

I'm not sure what it uses in place of a fan, but I definitely feel air coming out of the slots, I wanna find out what it is http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif
Anyone else ALMOST short sell Apple stock this week? I almost did on Wed. after reading a story that pointed to some problems. I decided not to. I could have made over $2,000 today.. OOPS! I don't think I'll buy one, but I am impressed at any computer without a fan... and I've heard that with Darwin you can drop into a bash shell. Now that would be sexy. http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif

If I am not mistaken, it *somehow* pulls in air out of an opening in the clear thing that holds it up. See, now I'm getting technical. http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif
The machine is very cooled, but it seriously helps that the power source isn't in that little cube! You have to stash this small-battery-sized thing somewhere and it supposedly gets quite hot. Major con in my book. I like the looks, so I think I'll buy it as a computer "just for the fun of it" when I have money coming out the wazoo... http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif |

Ya me too but the "wazoo" aspect is necessary. http://geekvillage.com/ubb/wink.gif

I love my MAC!
I have a 450 mhz G3 and LOVE it. Now I'm just waiting to get the real grown up Cube with the monitor that is a huge flat screen. Wow.....! Ya'll don't know what you are missing. I have 2 PCs at work...a laptop and a standard... sit on the desk top and grind kind....and I'm always so sorely disappointed in the performances. I am illegally shut down for surfing the web or if I'm simply trying to write a document in WORD. I love to come home to my baby...that hums quietly and goes so fast.... No illegal operations shut down on my Mac.... Just sign me... MAC Lover |
