Unhappy NO service?!?!?

Hey Steve,

I bet OC would be willing to meet your server at the Miami airport and show it the sights (NOT sites) if there's any downtime prior to the install.

Hope everything goes well. Yuck.

Steps:
Backups from root to local machine
Back up server to tape
Power down gracefully
Unplug server from the Lan (they probably due this rack by rack
All my alarms go off
Start my coffee machine and inject Coffee into my veins
Toss the servers into a U-haul trailer or the back seat of a rented VW and drive to South Beach </joke>
Visit a few night clubs </joke>
Head to the NOC after this
Install the same server in the new data center
Hold breath
Power up
Alarms go off again to say things are cool

I think every one that has pop-up blockers will freak out and lose some hair when they see the site down!!!

thanks

1. I don't have much hair left to loose

2. Send the "rumor mongers" to:

http://www.g17.com/ which will contain the current status of the migration

and a detailed list of which South Beach clubs the noc team visited. </joke>

3. Crisis counseling for those that don't run pop-blockers will be available during the migration </joke>

Well, just in case the sun doesn't come up tomorrow, I'll see you guys in a couple of days, right?

:sobbing:

I'm glad my server isn't in Miami. Two places you don't want your server to be...California and Florida.

Our dedicated server is scheduled to be moved to the Miami, Florida, USA Dialtone/Interland Data Center. They are consolidating their data centers and I have no choice in this move.

Date of move: Sometime between May 2, 2003 and May 5, 2003

Time of move: Between 12:00 AM EST and 6:00 AM EST (Eastern Standard Time and date computed from Miami, Florida, USA)

Anticipated Down Time: 3 to 6 hours
