Hi Guys,
I was with ValueClick for over 9 months, but then they terminated my account earlier saying that too many people were clicking on ads from outside U.S... Is this really a "big" and "real" issue to go with? Over 70% of my daily uniques are from U.S, and rest are from other countries. 70% isn't a bad amount. Besides, correct me if I am wrong... Internet is not so New in U.S anymore, so people are sick of banner advertisements, they don't even take a "look" at them usually, forget Clicking! But Internet is still new in many other parts of the World so the ratios from there are much higher even if Less percentage is coming from that Country. Why can't companies understand this...? Besides, U.S population is only around 250 Million... While some of the other countries population is in Billions. So even if the Whole U.S is Online (which isn't) and 25% of some other country is Online, the clicks - impressions - and ratios can match up, right? Then I was given another reason that my website had "spicy" content on it and they don't want such website. But I don't have any spicy content at all. Not even Pictures! So that reason really sounded dumb and meanless. Those guys didn't even want to hear from me after they terminated me... Ehmm Ehmm, well... Is demographics a really big issues with companies nowadays...? And what do you guys think about ValueClick? Take care... http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif |

Around 50% of people on the net are from America (Not just U.S), and the internet has been in my place for other 2 years I think (I from New Zealand). So I don't see why you should have been canceled. I have had the net for nearly a year and am sick of banner advertisements, and like so are most people so I guess new people like you said to the net click on them all the time, our school got an internet thing, probley been out in US for ages, this is where you can get your own login free, 1 dollar an hour (thats like 50c US) and 10 free hours, I were watching some people new to the net one day, over 75% (3 out of 4 people) clicked on banner ads. Banner Ads are like ****s, it's always like punch the monkey to win 25k, atleast the webmaster makes money through this, if there account isn't deleted. Im sure websitesponsors isn't mean like this hey Chet???

Hi, "spicy" means... Content which is related to ***, I suppose. Can also include adult pictures, pronography, & stuff like that... SPICE UP THINGS!!! - Add some "interaction"... Hehe!
And no, it doesn't mean "forcing visitors to click on banner ads" - That can be known as "spamming" - "cheating" - "begging" - or "forcing" http://geekvillage.com/ubb/wink.gif Anyway,... c-Yah! and hope you become a Senior Member soon! http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif [This message has been edited by Ninjaa123 (edited 05-20-2000).] |
