Hi,
The website I'm currently making has banners at both the top and the bottom of the pages. The nature of the site requires that I make new pages daily, and I'm having a problem keeping from redundantly placing banners on the pages. I don't want my visitors to see the same ad on 5 pages in a row, think the site is lame and take off. http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif My question is: Are there any programs out there (either 3rd parties or something I can add to my pages) that will display a selection of banners I choose? Are any of them worth the trouble? Thanks for listening to the woes of a newbie! http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif |

You could use cj and use their smartzones thing,,, but those take a while to set up... On the other hand, you can control which ads are shown more frequently! I like it...
(not exactly what you are looking for I guess, but you can take and put the same code on every new page. and it will rotate on all of those pages! so they could get the same ads 5 times in a row or 5 different ads...) ------------------ Greg Children should not partake in the reading of this board,,, with laces in their shoes... www.dumbpics.com ICQ: 58937322 [This message has been edited by Knix (edited 08-09-2000).] |

I don't specifically know of any banner rotation software here, but there's a lot of nifty CGI scripts at http://www.cgi-resources.com
You should find at least one script that does what you want, if not more. ------------------ <A HREF="http://www.colehosting.com" TARGET=_blank> http://www.colehosting.com</A> Hosting, Custom CGI Scripts, Design - We've Got Everything For You! |

If you have the $$$, AdJuggler Classic is excellent - I use it on Emailaddresses.com and my other sites to serve more than 2 million banners a month. You have to change the code (1 time) on each page but that takes about 30 seconds when you're making the page so it's not a big hardship. And as long as each page (or slot, if you have more than 1 banner per page) has a unique ID, you can then rotate banners no problem at all.
AdJuggler Classic costs $495 and is available from AdJuggler.com Edwin ------------------ Free Email Address Directory: 1,000+ free email services. http://www.emailaddresses.com/ |

Try: http://awsd.com/scripts/webadverts/
And this third-party banner rotation service at: http://www.cgi.net/ (They show 10% ads of their sponsors for using their ad rotation service... So on every 1000 ads you show, they will show 100 ads from their sponsors) WebAdverts is pretty good if you have nice, fast, reliable hosting who doesn't care if you use big cgi-scripts, or if you have a nice dedicated server. Good luck! - zMan |

phpAds from http://www.phpwizard.com http://geekvillage.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
It will do exactly what you want, and it a heck of a lot easier to setup and install than anything you can find in Perl. -jim |

It's been mentioned already but my favorite is OpenX which I believe used to be called PHPAdsNew. You can check it out at http://www.openx.org/ad-server, it's free if you download and install it yourself.

Strider/Brian, welcome back to Geek/Talk! It's amazing to see you here again.
![]() I've just started using OpenX and it is a great option; particularly now that they have a marketplace feature attached.
