I applied a few days ago and never heard back. Hate that, at least tell me no.

One side benefit, the site had been dropped from google when we had some domain issues. It is back in. It was worth applying just for that.

I got accepted late yesterday ... heres my stats so far:

Impressions: 5,733
Clicks: 3
CTR: 0.1%
Earnings: $0.27

So $0.09/click on average isn't bad. The numbers are so low because I currently have the banners running in a very unoptimal place to test them out ... at the bottom of the pages of my site, under another 468x60 banner. You can see examples of the kind of ads you get by going to dosgames.com ... I saw mobygames.com running AdSense ads as well recently ...

I don't think that the AdSense ads would work as Burst default ads would they? Since they have to actually be on the page to be able to discern what keywords to use ...

So we know two websites that have been accepted. Now I am definitely assuming they did not accept my site because it's been 2 days and no word from them. I am kind of disappointed that I did not get in. I think it would been a good default banner to use and I would get some use out of it on the bottom of my sites.

I was also accepted. I'm getting about close to a 2% clickthru (it would be higher but I'm not frequency capping per visitor). That's about what I expect for targeted topic ads on our sites.

As for earnings...well folks, what I'm seeing is something that is really "too good to be true" except I have no reason to disbelieve google's credibility here. When I say good, I mean good as in during the good old days...that good.

I don't want to disclose overall numbers, but I can say that my FIRST click earned me in the $3.50 range!

That's probably the high point, though.

Yes, your numbers are true. I also received $2 for my first click. But that number has dropped down to .50 now that my CTR has gone down to 0.2%. It appears the payout is directly proportianal to the CTR and your site content.

Stats from several hours:

Impressions: 305
Clicks: 7
CTR: 2.3%
Earnings: $0.49

Not bad...

They reply back if your site has not been accepted into adsense :

Thank you for your interest in Google AdSense. Our program specialists
have reviewed your application. Based on our Terms and Conditions
(https://www.google.com/adsense/terms) and program policies
(https://www.google.com/adsense/policies), we are unable to accept you
into our program at this time.

Apparently they don't like other text-based content-targeted advertisements.

You also agree not to display any other text-based or content-targeted advertisement(s) on the same Web page in connection with which an Ad Unit or any Ad is displayed.

Sashman, I thought that was the problem as I had other text-based advertisements on my page. So what I did was remove those ads (only was making like $15 dollars a month from those) and signed up again with my Google AdWords account email this time and they accepted my site. So just a few minutes ago, I started to run Google AdSense 468x60 ads on the bottom of my sites.

I am excited and I am hoping to see some good results

Same just happened here .. I removed my Amazon links, resubmitted, and 5 minutes later was accepted. I had to use a different email address to resubmit though.

I was accepted with a site whose primary function revolves around the presentation of text-based ads (a freebie directory). This does obviously limit placement of the creatives to the content-based areas of the site, though.

Ads are up and running, but they are not targetting very well at all for my site. I know there are 6 or 7 adword campaigns for my site's category, but I have yet to see them.

Some of the ads are FAR out there. http://www.postalsupplies.com/cornerboard.html .. For a gaming site.

Edit : After looking at my stats I can't believe I was actually complaining.

You might want to check the TOS again. I believe they ask that the links be above the fold. I don't recall if it's mandatory, or just suggested.

I checked it again and couldnt find anything about displaying the ad below the fold. If you happen to find it again, please let me know. Thanks for making me re-read it though, as your not supposed to post ctr or rates .. and I have.

Oh man...these ad words are extreemly on target.

They match all my pages, which contain a variety subjects from Hillary Clinton's new book, to Martha Stewart...

If I depended on sales, I would not consider using them, not at all. However, I'm not selling items, I just talk about them, which is great...

I'll post some results here to see how the targeting goes, I'm using the sky..
