Unhappy new popup script

Alright, I was wondering if it is possible to make a popup, not just a "normal" popup. But one that only comes up when somebody leaves my site, like if they go from my site www.dumbpics.com to another ex. www.infoseek.com there is a popup BUT if they go to www.dumpics.com/archives.html for example there IS NOT a popup. So that I don't bug people going from page to page in my site. Anybody know if this is possible? If so do you mind sharing the script/html code?

Yes, it is possible, but a bit of work. You put the javascript

<BODY 'onUnload=LaunchPopup()'>

inside your <BODY> tag, then you put a function like this in your <HEAD>:

<SCRIPT>
var YesPopup=true;
function LaunchPopup{
if (YesPopup) {..code to launch popup..**
**
</SCRIPT>

And then inside every link you don't want to cause a popup you put this popup disabling code:

<A HREF='whatever.html' onClick='YesPopup=false'>....</A>

Note: I haven't tried this exact code out, but this is how I have done it in the past.

walther: this isn't working, mind telling me what is wrong here....

<SCRIPT>
var YesPopup=true;
function LaunchPopup{
if (YesPopup) {http://www.dumbpics.com**
**
</SCRIPT>

</head>

<body bgcolor="#0066CC" link="#FFCC00" vlink="#FFCC00" onUnload='LaunchPopup()'>

<a href="5.html" onClick='YesPopup=false'>any
key </a>

Am I just being DUMB(sorry) or what? I'm thinking I should use " instead of ' but that didn't seem to effect it...

Hmmm..... I were just hoping you could change Unload to Load. I came accross a code a while ago that goes in the body and has some features, but it can only have 1 popup at a time (If you were hoping for more). I can't remember an url, have no idea, but if I go to my old PC (My dad's one) I may still have it in favourites (It was a nice site with some javascript codes where you just placed in some details and the code was written for you).

Inside the script, you need to put the actual code that will lauch the popup, not just the URL. Probably you would use the same code that previously would have gone into the <BODY onUnload='someCodeHere()'> that you
would have ordinarily used to make the popup.
