You should also investigate SuperTAF, Focalex and NetEzines.

For information on any of these programs, or on other TAF (tell-a-friend) programs, just use the "Search" feature above to help you track down past threads.

This issue has been discussed in-depth within past threads both here and on the FreeWebspace.net forums. I'll see if I can track these down to reference here.

For now, though, I can tell you that this trend is wise, and will increasingly benefit both publishers and advertisers.

That is, when the Web first sprang into the public consciousness, stories abounded about how mom-and-pop businesses could operate out of a garage and act as a mini multinational to take on the big boys. An extension of this optimism saw the rise of many 'dotcom' companies who temporarily fooled themselves and their investors into believing that they could access a market of 100s of millions through their website. The funds raised on such unproven promises led to the online advertising boom of 97-99. Most of the advertisers during that time were dotcoms, who were happy to make large run-of-network CPM buys under the assumption that everyone is a potential client.

While this is still true to some extent, and while many major ad networks are utilising geo-targeting and the like to reach users from particular nations, I think you'll find in the near future that seperate agencies or divisions of agencies will be established in each major area of the world. That is, US networks will focus on a US audience and publisher base, while extending into other English-speaking nations to a limited extent. In turn, ad networks will spring up in India, SE Asia, Russia, Europe, Africa, etc, etc. Much of this has already occurred.

In this particular case (MailBits and friends), advertisers have expressed their interest in reaching a US-based audience and have, rightly or wrongly, also asked that participating publishers be based in the US. And, in this market, what advertisers say, agencies/affiliate managers do!

Hang in there. There are still many networks that accept Indian publishers, and some of those that don't may be able to negotiate an individual contract with you if you explain the value that your site (and audience) present.

Best of luck. http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif

what are recomend-it SuperTAF, Focalex and NetEzines like, im sure this has been disgussed before but theres too many posts with TAF to find the right one. Do they operate on the same principles as mailbits ? ie if the user unsubscribes from the newsletter you still get paid etc.
