Change http://AheadNews.com.com --> http://AheadNews.com (only one .com).

Unhappy Press Release Submission

I just wrote a draft Press Release for my site and was wondering if anyone here could revise it. This is my first press release that I am releasing for my site so any suggestions on places to submit it that would effective would be greatly appreciated.

ST. LOUIS, MO- May 01, 2001 AheadNews launches its new political insider web site,
<http://www.aheadnews.com>, which now offers the latest scoops on the happening in the nation's Capitol, and breaking global news before even the Drudge Report. Ahead News is one of few sites on the web to guarantee the quality of its content. In addition to the free breaking news service, AheadNews' explosive newsletter became the first site to announce the outcome of the Supreme Court's decision in the Presidential Election last fall. Ahead News is well positioned to cater to the growing need of online newshounds who desire to stay ahead of the mainstream press.

Ahead News is located in St. Louis, MO and New York City. The Ahead News service was founded in October 2000 by college students Peter Barnidge and Matt Oftinc in an effort to elliviate the apathy they encountered at their respective Universities.

You may want to fix your spelling errors to start.

Just a couple of comments about the content:

- a cutting edge news site probably does not want to reference a 6 month old news story. In the world of news, this is ancient history.

- you may not want to mention the Drudge Report without first getting permission from them.

- focus on what makes your news site better than what is out there

- you say you guarantee the quality of your content. How???? There is nothing in your release that backs this statement up.

- it doesn't look professional to have Yahoo as your contact email address.

Just a side note on your website - are you using those columnist's names with their permission? Personally, I would get rid of that whole column and move some of your news links into that space.

Cut back on the popups. It will drive visitors away. People simply do not want to be assaulted by pops to get the news.

Just my 2 cents and best of luck to you.
