It's manual approval. http://publisher.yahoo.com/

I've yet to hear back from them (applied 3 months ago)

Yahoo can take some time to approve your site. I have used them for a while now and they do better then adsense on some niches and worse on others.

Yahoo is very picky. I guess they are still not open to international publishers.

It blows me away that Yahoo Publisher Network is still US-only. And the company wonders why so many advertisers and publishers choose to work exclusively with Google when they could generate traffic of an equivalent quality more affordably through Yahoo.

I wondered why I'd never really heard about them, I'm living in the UK.

I do Forex trading, and I find it much more beneficial instead of this. I trade with FreshForex, with whom I find it all so lovely having low spreads, fast execution of trades, bonuses and several such features. Right now, they have one of the BEST possible offers in Stop-Out Insurance, which enables me to work nicely and comfortably.
