That's weird, once again, I think luck prevailed, I reported the problem and they increased my space to 550mb overall to contain the logs, on a $20 a month account with 30 gigs of transfer. I think they've been great http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif.

Currently I am serving 6,000 pageviews a day to one of my TB accounts (I have three http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif). 80% of the hits go to a very efficiently designed topsites based on perl and text data storage (not mysql). All pages have 3 server-side includes. The account also serves 28,000 server hits daily.

Even during the busiest of hours of the busiest days the pages load almost instantly with my Time Warner RR cable connection. The only downtime I suffered was when I guess the entire network was down several days ago...

That site is on the dante.tera-byte.com server. You will see what server you are on whenever you log on by ftp, use telnet etc...

Well its now 36 hours since the initial notificaton that they had closed my site.

4 Emails later (to abuse@tera-byte.com and noc@tera-byte.com) have produced no reply whatsoever.

Also there online help system does not appear to be working (using any of my three account userid/passwords).

Has anybody else heard directly heard from them in the last 24 hours ?

WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON ?

(If you detect some frustation here - you'd be right)

I grow very concerned about their whole operation....

Yes, I have contacted them in the last couple of days... No email has been left unanswered as of yet. But one of them took like 18 hours!

TSSR - I for one can see your frustration with TB. It does not reflect well on Tera-Byte that they will not acknowledge you. All problems aside, you are still (or was) a paying customer.

My question for all others is this - If TSSR's site was the cause of the problems at TB then why do the problems persist now that TSSR's site has been taken offline?

Further, why can't Tera-Bytes servers handle things that are routine for other hosts?

Do you really think it was his account that was the problem then?

TSSR's site could have only caused problems on the server he's on... All three of my sites are on different servers and the only time they went down was when TB's network went down.

With the exception of one site...

Response now received and I have been given FTP access to my account. Hooray ! http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif

My new dedicated server should be up today. My plan is to remove all scripts & html and use the TB server purely as an image store. The HTML and scripts for the site will be run from my own server with the gallery pages calling the images from the TB server (Bandwidth is still very expensive here in the UK). That way all TB are server is doing is providing diskspace and bandwidth - hopefully they'll be able to cope with that ?

Given the problems being discussed in this thread does anybody know of another provider who would let me do this in case TB continue to falter ? (i.e. just store images using a web account)

I been on astaroth.tera-byte.com for about 2 years now. Thats one of there FreeBSD servers, im guessing most of the people who are saying that there site is down must be on the CobaltRAQ servers.

I am on a shared cobalt at the time... Totalling over 12,000 pageviews daily with cgi-scripts and php scripts running.

The servers are loading blazingly fast with my cable net connection...
