Default Block specific IP

Can someone tell me if there is a way to block a certain IP (or series of IPs) from viewing one of my websites? I have a little kid who is being a real pain who has a static IP address and this would be incredibly helpful.

If you have root access on the machine, you could block access using route tables. Assuming you are trying to ban 10.0.0.1 type the following

/sbin/route add -host 10.0.0.1 reject

also add

ALL: 10.0.0.1

to your /etc/hosts.deny

You could also deny him/her access thru apache

<Limit GET POST>
order allow,deny
deny from 10.0.0.1
allow from all
</Limit>

If the problem gets real bad, you can ask you ISP to filter your incoming packets using router software/firewall.

I was thinking more simpler along the lines of htaccess. Anyone know how to do it? I do have root access to the server, but I am not the UNIX genuis. I have a friend who is the UNIX genius.

Put this in your .htaccess file (Replace 10.0.0.1 with the kid's static IP):

order allow,deny
deny from 10.0.0.1
allow from all
