If you want to disable all WordPress comments on all future articles by default, then the procedure is as:- you can go to Settings → Discussion and deselect "Allow people to post comments on new articles". This just disables them by default so you don't have to always perform that extra step. If you want you can also enable the comments on future articles.

Comments can be disabled on any page or post when it is being edited. This can be done by clicking on screen options at the top right of your screen when editing a page or post, and ticking the discussion box if it is not enabled already.

Once enabled, you can scroll down to the discussion panel under the text editor and untick the allow comments box.

Disabling Comments on Multiple WordPress Posts or Pages

1.Click on Posts in the admin sidebar and under posts, select All Posts. For Pages, click on Pages > All Pages.
2.Tick the posts you would like to disable comments for.
3.Select Edit from the Bulk Actions at the top of the screen and click the Apply button.
4.Under Comments, select Do not allow and Click the Update button.
