Blackberry is a tough one, as the market for apps on that platform is so much smaller than the Android and iOS ecosystems, but promoting the app directly to your customer base, in your email signatures, through social media channels and by providing free copies to app review sites will be a good place to start. Then keep building buzz and responding to customer queries as quickly and publicly as possible so that a community starts to develop around the app.

Run a small, nice designed website with a description and instructions. Make a fan page on facebook, use twitter. You can try to distribute promo codes and in response get a good review of your application. So much depends on the genre of applications.

Hello andy, Promotion of blackberry application would be a long process, as it is a wide term with lots of competition. You need to do physical and logical marketing. Logically i mean virtually online. Seo, smo is required to build a brand name. Once you start getting visits then you will surely can reach the proper target.

For promoting blackberry apps the following are some tips and recommendations. Hope they will be helpful.
First of all, try to submit your app to blackberry apps review sites and post information about your app at blackberry app announcement forums.
Also, select low competitive keywords, which can drive targeted traffic to your blackberry app and then write and submit keyword rich articles to top article directories.
Also, it makes sense to comment blog posts, where lists of similiar blackberry apps are provided. Comment such blog posts as a contemporary user and recommend people your app.

1) Make it BBM integrated - this will help with a viral distribution effect.
2) Nominate your app to be featured on App World.
3) Most importantly, if your app is well made and easy/fun to use then people will find it.
