Smile

Thank you Jonathan. I notice that you're from the UK too http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif

The script was actually for a British site I'm working on. You can check out the script - working correctly thanks to you - at http://64.176.72.84/bla/welcome.shtml

Thanks once again!

Question

I thought I was all sorted and then I came across another problem... that's programming for you http://geekvillage.com/ubb/frown.gif

I don't know if Jonathan or anyone else can assist.

Basically, the page on which I have incorporated the above drop-down menu has a bookmark script on it (have way down). When the page is called through the forwarding URL ( http://www.ukhotmovies.com/welcome.shtml ) the script doesn't work.

When I use the real URL ( http://64.176.72.84/bla/welcome.shtml ) it works fine.

I've had a similar problem with our sites of mine and have never managed to decipher why this happens. Any ideas why this is happening and how to resolve it?

Thank-you thank-you thank-you...

Question How do I get a drop-down menu to open links in a new window?

How do I get a drop-down menu to open the links in it in a new window?

I have tried adding TARGET="_BLANK at various places on the form, but to no avail, the links still open in the current window.

I know it's possible if I have a 'GO'-type button that is clicked after an option is selected, but I prefer a drop-down menu that works automatically without having to press the 'GO' button.

<FORM NAME="nav"><DIV>
<SELECT NAME="SelectURL" onChange=
"document.location.href=
document.nav.SelectURL.options[document.nav.SelectURL.selectedIndex].value" TARGET="_BLANK" >
<OPTION VALUE="http://www.freefind.cjb.net"
SELECTED>Please select an option:
<OPTION VALUE="http://CDUK.Best.CD">
CD UK - Music Shopping
<OPTION VALUE="http://TopSitesUK.cjb.net">
TopSites UK - Britain's Best Websites
</SELECT><DIV>
</FORM>

Can anybody help me please?

Thanks...

Unhappy

Just use window.open instead:
Code:
<FORM NAME="nav">
<SELECT NAME="SelectURL" onChange=
"window.open (document.nav.SelectURL.options[document.nav.SelectURL.selectedIndex].value,'newwindow')">
<OPTION VALUE="http://www.freefind.cjb.net"
SELECTED>Please select an option:
<OPTION VALUE="http://CDUK.Best.CD">
CD UK - Music Shopping
<OPTION VALUE="http://TopSitesUK.cjb.net">
TopSites UK - Britain's Best Websites
</SELECT>
</FORM>
