Default What CMS works best for you?

I have a couple of sites that I'm currently using WordPress to manage. While it's OK, I don't like how inflexible the layout per section is without adding a ton of if statements to the theme source, and some of the category issues are annoying.

My sites are tech-related, and while WP is great for a straight up blog, I need something a little different.

So, what do ya'll reccomend/use?

Oh, I'd need a CMS that would allow me to use the same permalink structure as WP. I cannot take the rankings slaughter that I did with my last conversion where the URLs all changed.

Obviously something SEO friendly would be great.

I don't think another cms will have the exact same permalink structure as wordpress out of the box. You would have to do some mod rewrite for that I think (but I am no expert of that stuff).

Textpattern is a cms that is great for blog-like material and is slightly better than wordpress for categories and layout etc...
I personally use Etomite for my lighter sites, but I don't know if that would fit your needs though. It might be worth checking out.

Drupal is a much more powerful cms that does a lot, and is very flexible, but might be more than you're after. eZpublish is even more expandable in my opinion, but again may well be overkill.

I just use Etomite. I tried Nuke, Drupal, Xoops, Mambo (Joomla), e107 .. all were limiting my skinning experience. Now I can create a layout from scatch in photoshop and code it as I want ...

I think these problem can be sort out by using Magento which is one of the most powerful CMS and contains various features but it is quite complex to operate.

As per my personal suggestion,a content management system is a program that allows publishing, editing and modifying content as well as maintenance from a central interface.A content management is a system used to manage the content of a website.
