Default Stuff to sell

I have numerous memberships for www.valulinks.com (online retailer that sells stuff at or below wholesale to the public). These normally sell for $50, but I'm asking $40. Does anyone know if setting up an affiliate program though a third party is worth establishing to sell these. I would make a website for them, but I dont want to waste time sumbitting to search engines due to the limited quanity of memberships I have (wouldnt be worth the time; could sell before they appear on the engines...). My question mainly then I guess would be: Has anyone here established an affiliate program to help sell their stuff online, and was it worth establishing. From what I would make, it isnt worth my time sumbitting to the engines, yet I dont think I can afford to set up an affiliate program. Any suggestions? (or anyone wanna buy 1? or 10...) http://www.very-cool-stuff.com/ubb/smile.gif j/k. Thanks!

Try Ebay or one of the other auction sites.

I would suggest an auction too, unless you have unlimited or a large quantity

Regarding your question I am selling our internet fax software using our own affiliate program - and soon will be selling other products too.

I use www.clickbank.com . There is no setup cost for this. They charge :-
(1) 10% + $0.50 of the price of each sale charged to the merchant/seller (i.e. you)
(2) $2.50 deducted from each check
- and yes they do issue checks and their Tech Support is helpful.

The above sounds sounds a little complicated, here's an example :

- I charge $10 for my software
- Clickbank takes 10% + $0.50 from each transaction, leaving $8.50
- If it's a direct sale from my site I get $8.50
- If it's a referred sale, the affiliate gets a percentage. I can choose the percentage upto 50%. In my case I chose 40%. So in this case I'd get $5.10, and my affiliate gets $3.40
- when my check comes (the timing depends on the amount in my account read their payment policy), I get my earnings minus $2.50 which is their admin charge, and minus a small amount which is held as "reserves" against possible charge-backs. The "reserves" are paid to me later.

Clickbank is only good for online products (i.e. if you can transfer these memberships using an auto-responder, or by giving the username/password on a web page or download).

In my case this is working really well. I'm averaging about $0.50 per unique visitor to my fax pages, and affiliates are averaging about $0.20 per click-thru. As my program is new, these stats could potentially swing wildly about in the next weeks.

At the moment I am making good money with this method, although it hasn't yet over-taken the main affiliate programs I use (to which I have a lot more visitors)

You can recruit affiliates by posting to your web site a "recruitment page". A small number (not enough) is my main problem - I need more! ClickBank also list you in their "Merchants" directory after you make your first sale, and keep your their provided you are making regular sales. Some affiliates will see you there.
