Welcome to Geek/Talk, Andromeda.

Geek/Talk has a lot of very smart members so you should find it very helpful.

Just post a question whenever you feel like doing so.

With that username I can't help but wonder if you like astronomy?

I am sure you are going to enjoy being a Geek/Talk member.

Hi Larwee.. thanks for the warm welcome..
hmmm.. I like astrnomy.. actually I got my nick from a Greek Goddess..
here's a bit info

Andromeda was the perfect damsel in distress. She was the daughter of King Cepheus and Queen Cassiopia. Cassiopia ****** off the Nereids by saying that Andromeda was more beautiful than they. Poseidon sent a sea monster down that started devouring everything it could. To end the destruction, they decided to sacrifice Andromeda, and chained her to a rock for the monster to eat. Luckily, Perseus (young hero) swooped down to kill the moster and save the girl at just the right moment. He fell in love with her, of course, and wanted to marry her. But her parents were like, "heeeeeeeeck no." So he pulled out the head of Medusa and turned them to stone. Then they got married and had six sons and a daughter. When she died, Andromeda was hung in the sky as a constellation. That picture on the left is of her chained to the rock in a kinky kind of way.

Andromeda, thanks for the explanation.

I am aware of the princess from Greek mythology. But since I am very interested in astronomy, the first thing that came to my mind was the Andromeda Galaxy http://www.seds.org/messier/large/m31.gif

Now that you are a Geek/Talk member I hope you will take a look around and see all it has to offer.

If there is anything that you don't understand about Geek/Talk, please be sure to ask.

That's beautiful andromeda. Welcome.

With a username like that, I guess you must be joining the ranks of our other clever geek/girls; including Team Geek members Jan and Tyme, who help to form the backbone of our community.

I hope you have fun here (and learn a thing or two along the way).
