Unhappy Google Day! - Google Update

Google Day! - Google Update

Today is Google day! Google results are updated. Google is about 2 weeks early this time around.
Want to see if your site has already been indexed by Google? Go to google and type: www.yourdomain.com site:www.yourdomain.com

If you need to check your website (your competitors') search engine ranking on Google you can use agentwebranking Freeware http://www.agentwebranking.com

Actually not all of Google's index has been updated (one of my sites is unchanged) But, as far as my sites go, yahoogle has updated and you can see the upcoming changes there (if they ever do change in google this month).

My site dropped 3 spots when I thought I would go up, oh well. http://geekvillage.com/ubb/frown.gif

Scuba,
The best way to get into google is to get into the ODP http://www.dmoz.org

Then once you get into ODP manually submit your site to google.

Once you have done this your site *should* show up in google towards then end of the next month. So, say you got into the today and then submitted to Google, you would probably see your site added to google towards the end of june.

As for HotBot, if you go to http://www.positiontech.com and pay for a listing (pretty cheap) your site will get into HotBot within 48 hours and will be reindexed every 48 hours for a year afer that.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info I was looking for a quick way to check Google, I knew my site got indexed but I have been to busy to check.

Now if I can only finish my site that indexing may be a good thing. LOL

Google also has a few different database that get changed around while updating and they may not all be exactly the same at certain times of the month. I believe they are: www.google.com
www2.google.com
www3.google.com

So if your site isn't on www.google.com and you think it should be check the other ones and it may be there which would mean it will *soon* show up in the main results.

Yes. For me, www3.google.com always shows the new results (constantly) several days before the www.google.com gets updated.

I have still the #1 rank for various keywords and sites.
Most of my sites are in the top 10 for popular keywords.
Thanks to Google !
