JustStarted, if you have additional questions, please ask. Our Geek/Talk members are a very helpful group of people.

Your original question was really too general. There is not an easy answer to that question. You need to ask a question about a specific problem you might be having and give as many details as possible.

In order to make money with your site you need to have traffic. Building traffic is one of the first things that needs attention. Without enough visitors you aren't going to make very much or any money.

You mentioned you were just learning about CPA programs. Depending on your site it is possible that CPA programs would be great or it is possible something else might be better for you. Our members could help make suggestions.

It isn't clear from what you posted if you have a site and you don't have any advertising on the site, or if you are presently using something other than CPA and you now want to give CPA a try. Actully it isn't clear if you have a site yet.

If you have a site Geek/Talk members could give you a site review. That is assuming it isn't an adult site, hate site, etc.

In the site review they would make suggestion on things you possibly should consider changing, what might need to be improved, what should be added as well as other useful suggestions. Having the site look and function properly could be a very big help.

If you would like a site review just post in this forum http://www.geekvillage.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=47 give the URL of your site and request a site review.

After that and if any changes are suggested and made, the next step would be to consider the amount of traffic you have. You might already be satisified with your traffic. If not, then that needs to be your next focus. Not only does having good traffic help make it possible to make money, some advertising networks have certain traffic requirements.

This is something that needs to be taken a step at a time and it is something that takes a while, so you need to be patient.

Based upon what you said in your original post I am assuming you are new to all of this. That might not be the case. You may just have never tried any CPA programs. But whatever it might be, our membership can help. All you need to do is ask and asking a question focused on a specific problem rather than a broad area will make it possible to give you the helpful answers that you need.

Welcome to the forum JustStarted

CPA will not work for everyone, you have to work at it most of the time and find programs that fit your demographics until you find something that works. I am aware that some of our members make colossal amounts from CPA whilst others are "happy" if they get $10 a month (combined with their other advertising revenue).

I personally put it down to too much hard work for very little return.

JustStarted, here are a couple of threads that will give you an idea of how others feel about CPA programs based upon their experiences with them.

This one tells why people don't like CPA programs http://www.geekvillage.com/forums/sh...threadid=26204

This thread tells why people like CPA programs http://www.geekvillage.com/forums/sh...threadid=26307

I should add that a lot of people have had very good success with the Google AdSense program, which isn't a CPA program and many would suggest that it is one you should look into http://www.google.com/adsense

Again, if you have any questions, just ask and Geek/Talk members will do their best to help you.

Welcome aboard! What I find most people like about running CPA ads is the potential to make incredible earnings with targeted ads. You have the freedom to pick and choose which ads you would like to run on your site(s) - not only what type of offer, but how many. Plus, since merchants are paying on for an action that is completed, they can offer a much higher payout than with CPC or CPM.

Yes, finding ads that are revenue-earners for your site may take time, effort, and some trial and error. But affiliate marketing is work. And just like any other job, the more you work at it, the more you get out of it!

JustStarted does your last question indicate that you are thinking about starting your own affiliate program?

There are various options, one of which is KowaBunga http://www.kowabunga.com/

JustStarted, I just read your question about affiliate software again and it really isn't all that clear since you didn't give details on what uses you had in mind for the software.

While it is possible you might be thinking about starting your own affiliate program, it is also possible you might be interested in ad serving and/or ad management. If that is the case a very good choice would be phpAdsNew http://phpadsnew.com/two/
