Default WTB: Message forums

I'm looking to buy some fairly established (couple thousand members or more) message forums on various topics. If you own one and want to sell for a reasonable price, or if you know of any for sale please let me know

Question for you guys. What do you think I should offer to a website that has 63,000 members, and a google pr of 4? I'm having a hard time deciding how much forum sites are worth. The last one I purchased had about 5000 members and I was able to get it for 500 dollars (which I then made back in like 1 month ) . Is there a general guideline to follow for buying sites?

ya good luck getting another site for one month's income tho...

its rare

Sites usually go for 12x income meaning the forum you got if it really does get 500/mo would have gone for 6000$ easily

63,000 Members is one thing to judge by.

Any revenue?

How many new members a day?
How many new threads a day?
How many new posts a day?

How many users ONLINE at one time AVG?
Site Topic and target market?

I know the one I bought last was a once in a lifetime catch, but i'm trying to target sites that are not making use of what they have in terms of revenue generation.

The site I was looking at making an offer on makes around 4k a month as far as income although I believe I could make much more than that. As far as users online they average 600-800 on any given night. It's one of the oldest sites around in its market. In other words I think I was aiming a bit too high. I'm going to work on the smaller sites for now

Did the owner of that forum express interest in selling? I ask because if he's making that kind of money monthly, I don't see why he would be interested in selling, especialy for a self running site of his nature.
