Unhappy Generating traffic on a tiny budget

I just started my directory site. All the links are there because I am an affiliate of those sites. The question at hand is how do I generate traffic? What are some secret tips to get people to visit my site. So far, I have registered at search engines and gotten involved in some banner exchange programs. However, the best thing I have found is spamming Yahoo! Finance message boards. There has got to be better ways for consistent traffic. Help me please. I need traffic.

My site is: http://www.walvinlists.com

First of all, inorder to get traffic and repeat visitors, your site need some useful content. When I looked at your site, there are nothing but affiliate programs with most shopping sites I already know. If I was looking to find a directory of shopping site, then my first chose would be bizrate.com or yahoo to search for shopping sites.

Don't take this wrong, but your site have nothing but useless contents. The only reason they're your best sites in the first place is because they're your affiliates. By just having links will not get you traffics and return visitors.

I ran across this, might be of some use for anyone:

1) Prepare good contents
2) Submit to Search Engines
3) Buy Search Engine Positioning
4) Use Direct Mail.
5) Use Opt-In Mail.
6) Issue and distribute Press/News Releases
7) Try newsletter advertising
8) Use banner advertising
9) Prepare Referral/Affiliate programs
10) Use traditional media advertising
11) Solicit links
12) Write articles and make yourself an authority in your

The king of this list is:

- Have clear simple contents that call for action.
- Describe your unique strong points
- Offer some free things
- Prepare META tags considering title, description and
keywords only
- Capture visitors' e-mails by issuing newsletter or
offering other free information.
-Optimize the site for fast downloading.

Best of Luck,

Yes.. Its true. You need good content to have a good amount of traffic. What you have on your site is just a directory of all your affiliate links. Not much news, help, or info on your site. Dont take me the wrong way. Im just trying to help.

I am not as trunk as you dhink!!!
