I still believe that this latest change is not likely to be a big problem to too many affiliates.

I haven't heard of any mention of a minimum commission that must be earned in order to avoid this new fee. Presumably this means that earning 1 cent in 6 months would be enough to be considered active.

I would challenge anyone to show me an active affiliate that hasn't been able to earn 1 cent in 6 months even though they have been trying.

Simon, I was stuck on the same balance for many, many months, every now and again I used to login and spend hours going through the merchants to try something else. I now don't bother. It is much easier to find something suitable at fineclicks.

They can take their $10 a month till my balance is nil as it isn't worth the bank conversion to have $22 sent to me.

If they do nothing, eventually the account will go down to zero (@$10/month) and get closed.

I hope this helps clear things up.

Look, I am a "super-affiliate": I do this full time, I have good success with the handful of programs I am riding at any given time, my site logs millions of pageviews a month.

I simply do not understand why CJ wants to terminate my account if I don't happen to earn commissions for 6 months.

I just took a look at CJ's site without signing in, and you can only find an advertiser list with the barest details of each offer (e.g. "15% of sale"). No details, no return days, no sample links, no EPC obviously, not even a way to contact the advertiser unless they have an affiliate contact posted on their own website. In short, nothing that would convince me to sign up again (if that is even going to be possible).

Default Advertisers didn't know this!

I am curious why wasn't there something for the advertisers to ask our opinions before our network just up and did it. The jury is out for me whether it is a good idea or not (maybe our EPC will increase, but so will everyones....plus we lose branding opportunities.). I think I would have liked to hear more about this change before they just did it.

I have received emails at our www.123turnkey.com affiliate program that made it sound like it was our fault.

That's ok, we also do our program through ShareASale, so they can choose. ;-)
